The morning after...

As a wag said yesterday, today is the holiday, the 4th was just another Sunday. Well it was fun. Kids running around getting dirty while playing who knows what imaginary game. Adults, thrown together with not a lot in common having a very nice time just listening to each other for a change, dog walks at twilight with cars slowing for a change) and drivers waving hello, deer running in the woods as a result of fireworks down the road...just nice stuff.

Krugman's article in the Times this morning was a welcome to the holiday day for those who actually don't want one - meaning those who want to work.

There is a local "commentator" who runs his mouth for a couple hours every day on WOR-AM in New York named Steve Mahlsberg or something like that (and I'm not going to expend the effort to get his name right - phonetically it is correct and that is as much as I want to give this creature).  He is one of those "second amendment solution" types who instead of "President Obama" calls him "B. Hussein".  He is the worst type of racist creep. The truth isn't in him.  What is in him is fear and loathing and that makes for what passes for good radio.

Nancy Pelosi said just the other day that unemployment benefits are job creators. This joker Mahlsberg played a laughing soundtrack over her comments and then called for her to be impeached "or worse", a commie pinko, and then (gasp) a socialist.  She of course is right and this ape is wrong and if you read Krugmen's column you will understand why.

Mahlsberg is what is wrong with things. Arrogance of position, inflexibility in thought, ... zero brains......a good Sunday somewhat ruined by the reality of a Monday holiday morning.
