The Shinnecocks have recently been given recognition as a tribe. No big deal? VERY big deal. Not only is their current territory some of the most valuable real estate in Southampton (yes the Hamptons on Long Island) they now can put a casino right in the middle of the richest demographic on the planet. Think about a poker machine in Moe's bar in Simpson-land. Think of one on the 10th floor of Trump Plaza. Get it?
Their website is rather excited ..and why not. You just made a few hundred folks filthy rich courtesy of the US government. Now we can wait for our Congressman Bishop (1st District NY) take credit for this...Just you wait.
I was sneaky here. Bishop is a former college professor from Southampton University. He has presided over the closing of a college in the richest demographic area on this planet and the next one that you need to walk and chew gum to attend is 60 miles away....so go look...unless you live in the middle of Dodahhh Oklahoma population 40 instead of Eastern Suffolk County New York, population 160,000, median housing 1 million, acreage at 1-4 million an acre, school support up to $60,000 per student (no kidding) and you can't help this area grow or prosper (2/5ths of small businesses have closed in the last year) you don't deserve to sit in Congress and you are what we thought you were - some sort of dits who would do no harm.
Doing no harm is not associated with "do no good". ...hrmmmmph
