Bell California is a small town with something of a problem. It appears that it's city manager had a salary of about $800,000 give or take. I looked up Bell, California and it appears to be near South Central LA..not exactly the Malibu in net worth. It also has only about 40,000 people so not a major metroplex.
It would seem that the assistant city manager (who I am guessing did a lot of the grunt work) made about half that amount and the mayor came out o'k too. You have to give them credit for coming to work under conditions that are now life threatening and "jail for certain". But for salaries that ranged from $1500-$3000 per work day, well, why not...there are ribbons to cut, babies to kiss....
Jerry Brown the attorney general and candidate for govenor has a picture on that link that, as Picasa is down this morning, I can't post here but it looks like he is ready to scratch out an eye - and not wait for the subpoena process to do its thing. I've followed Brown since he was tagged Govenor Moonbeam ages ago. He has a winner of an issue here and as a candidate and master politician he sees it. You can just tell. Blood in the water so to speak. He is going to milk this "bell" cow of an issue to death and it will take all the savings these three miscreants can muster to survive the onslaught.
Brown smells blood. Their blood. His putting these three in a horrible place will play to the crowd in a manner without measure. Ohhhboy..this is gonna be fun.
