Matt Drudge has a blog or site of sorts. His only claim to fame that is "his" is stealing a spiked story off a newspaper editor's desk. Otherwise he just scrapes stuff from others and posts crap at will. In a normal schoolyard, we would call him a liar and a fink....and that would be at recess. He models his spiel after Walter Winchell of the 50s - right down to the hat. As you might imagine, I don't hold Drudge in very high regard.
I didn't like Walter Winchell much either. This, in the radio or tv business, is called "rip 'em and read 'em" journalism. When I had a radio program some 30 years ago we had tickertape from the Associated Press (AP). That was the only trusted and allowable news source. Occasionally I would venture into reading stuff from the local newspaper until I got in trouble for that as it was ok to report news you could trust but not ok to read someone else's take on the story....they might get it wrong. Someone needs to slap Drudge around some and tell him.
