The evils of not knowing - and looking on the Internet to find out

If you are intrigued by the footage to the left here is the link.

The Internet is a vast library of fact and fiction.  I am constantly appalled by the advocates of Internet research in that almost everything here online is either a pdf type of document of a "real document" or simply an extension of a blog.... that is history or fact rewritten. It is as if Fox News and Inside Edition become our Library of Congress.

Kindle poses another threat - of course not with "fiction" but with the death or dying of the published word.  The simple joy of a sofa, daylight on a rainy afternoon, or a late night with just a little Haydn bubbling away in the background - feeling the pages diminish and hoping there is more when indeed the back binding is in sight.

Books were great. They had publishers and peer reviews before they got published...and now I'm talking about historical, scholarly works. No one could publish through a big time publisher without fact check and review. No one.  The devil was in the footnotes.  Not he/she is more often than not an electron.

I want to believe and actually do in UFOs.  I think it is reasonable and from my own experience, I have a very open mind.  But I always take  the time to research within science or history and look for  good reporting fairly documented. We, as a society are nowhere near that level of satisfaction or curiosity.  Life and discussions would be so much better if we were.
