The sum and substance is that 2 players would go on to the next round of tournaments and he was leading in both. Rather than take both spots he purposefully let another player win one of them - really threw the match - so someone he respected could have a chance.
I'm pretty sure Grant is a good guy to play a round of golf with. I'm pretty sure he would try and beat you to death and when you were groaning and bleeding hit you a few more times if it was 1:1, him against you. That's what competitive golfers do. They are, as in Grant's case, pretty damn fine human beings.

To the first poster, you are a moron, learn to spell cheating and than maybe you will understand the quality of the individual performing a task that is as honorable as the game of golf. If there were more sportsman like him we wouldn't have to worry about kids pumping HGH into their system to truly cheat the game. Get a clue and an education pal.
