First, I invite you - actually urge you - to bookmark the NPR website. It is, from a technical point of view - meaning mainly navigation and organization - well, someone had to think a whole lot to make this happen.

There was an article that caught my eye - dealing with the perfect food - brownies. Of course it is the military version of how to make them. We found around here that the cheap mix from Waldbaums that takes 2 eggs, some vegetable oil and some water does really well - in fact in home taste tests it is the clear winner. And this story is instructive in that it makes no better brownie than we make in about 3 minutes of prep time but it is fun to see the government's take on things.
