I think Brooklyn is spendid. If I were sentenced to live closer to NYC I would opt out for the Grand Army Plaza area in a heartbeat..that is if Borneo with its now newly found orange snake was full.
A developer there has finally won over the last of the holdout so a monstrosity of epic size can be built along the older waterfront permitting a few thousand of NY's choice wall street types a view of the skyline at about $1,000/ft. rent or buy....and by the way, occluding the Park Slope area with its brownstones etc., FOREVER a view of the city that it has enjoyed for 100+ years.
Take me out to the ball game.
