Ahhhh Heifetz

A mother burst into Sol Hurok's offices in NYC years back. Sol was the greatest promoter and general impresario alive. "Mr. Hurok. You must put my son on the stage of Carnagie Hall".  Madame, I have no idea of your son's talent. "Let me play a record for you..you'll see instantly". She puts a 78 on the machine...and Mr. Hurok exclaims "Madame I would recognize that instantly as Jascha Heifetz. You are a sham madame..get out"...to which she replied, "But Mr. Hurok, he sounds just like him".

Musicologists have a very low threshold for humor...we are more of the "pull my thumb" types ... hahaha. So for your Sunday morning, here is Heifetz and Fritz Reiner conducting...probably 60 years old. Enjoy.
