Hey...before you settle into the NYTimes...got 9 minutes?

It's a pretty nice Sunday morning.  The talk show madness hasn't started yet. Sun is up and the clouds are in. We are due  2 1/2 days of rain and a cold one at that as it is just above freezing.   Maurice Ravel drove an ambulance in the first world war. He was a bit old for the trench warfare front lines but felt compelled to do his duty. The second movement of his piano concerto is a 50 year favorite. I had, as a kid, a record with a green cover that had this on it and a small stack of 33 1/3rds (those big vinyl records for those who have only been born in the world of CDs) and at night I would drop them on a tireless player that sat on the floor next to my bed. Pictures at an Exhibition, Rhapsody in Blue, Bolero, Escales and this concerto. I never failed to make it to this movement.  Oh for the days.  Listen up. Dream a little dream.
