I did my doctoral work on Debussy. He wrote perfectly perfect music. Of my favs is Clair de lune recorded here in the 30s by the Philly Orchestra with Stokowski and the other major favorite is from La Mer the first movement.
I'm somewhat sure that on a Friday morning with a major spring storm that will last 4 days here in southern New England that we are concerning ourselves more with having enough chowder and corn beef and cabbage to get us through the weekend of 5-8" of wind driven rain. Some of us who are early risers and wake up to the end of the moon and the rising of the sun appreciate that transition. If you live near the ocean and can hear the waves even on the calmest of mornings...well..there you have it.
