Baby steps - baby steps

I had the enormous pleasure of playing ball with my grand daughter yesterday. The sun was out bright, it was that seaside day of no clouds, clear air with a hint of spring and the red wing blackbirds, our early settlers, home at last. Abby is cute as a bug of course and is just learning the idea of running which to her means moving her legs fast in tiny babysteps.

I watch the congress do the same. Krugman's column in the Times this morning suggests that it is more than a good idea to take a step.  Baby as it is, it at least moves our legs and pretty soon the steps will get bigger.

There is no quick fix here. Well there is but it would offend. My idea is that anyone who votes against universal coverage must immediately give up his current health care (congress's) and go find it on their own from private sources. Simple simple.
