This is what Mr. Obama is talking about

The State of the Union is not so good and Mr. Obama's vision is greatly compromised by the depth of ignorance and stupidity he faces.  To wit, may I present Andre Bauer, the Lt. Govenor of South Carolina - the same state that brought you the Civil War Opening Night, Strom Thurmond, the last public school system to integrate, Govenor Sanford the Appalacian Trail hiker, and that nitwit who called the President of the United States a liar from the well of the house of representatives.

Mr. Obama spent most of the speech last night rallying the troops, his and ours, and the nation in general to get goin'.  Put some effort into all this mess and don't let the nation as a whole "down".  No vacation for congress here...you've got a responsibility to fix stuff you let break.

Obviously much of the nation shares that sentiment as people are really mad. For a family of 2 "boomer" adults with mild but chronic illness that many if not over half the people in the US have, typical medial costs run about $22,000 a year and that is with the deductible.  That is a $30,000 a year job just to pay health costs.  If you don't think that is out of whack you are simply braindead.

So up pops this Bauer character.  I'll quote him so I can get it right and you can see what the mentality is like that Mr. Obama must overcome.  "....grandmother’s warning against feeding strays. “You know why? Because they breed!” boomed the popular Republican. “You’re facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially ones that don’t think too much further than that.”

This was covered nicely in an editorial in the NYTimes but it deserves repeating here.  We elect idiots like this clown from SC (who incidently had subsidized lunches when he went to school) and they galvanize opinion and unfortunately reflect their constituents (God save the Queen here folks).  Mr. Obama must first talk down this ilk and then get to the people who are so utterly misguided as to think this fool is right.
