We have now more than a few disorders that we didn't know about in years past. I get autism but am rather astounded that the some 1/140 kids suffer from it and I suppose the attention deficit thing falls into that catagory but now we have SADs and PHBs.
SADs are Seasonal Adjustment Disorders - simply some of us react negatively to long dark days on one had and "tis the season to be jolly" on the other which leads us to some subset of SADs; the dreaded PHBs: POST HOLIDAY BLUES.
My dad suffered from pre and post holiday blues and some immediate family has night vision deficiencies so at a certain point in the late day everything kinda fades out...so I suppose those living nearer the equator suffer less from the seasonal stuff (as the days are more uniform) and atheists who don't follow any of the december holidays are off the hook.
How about we go back to the "if you have a temperature" kinda of sick and call the other stuff syndromes. ... but i'm loosing my train of thought...i keep thinking of other things but heck its the first day after the holidays and the shortest day of the year was less than a week ago...i'm entitled.
