This post will be brief. For years and years, the answer promoted by the NRA and seemingly a majority of our political leaders to mass shootings is to provide more gun ownership so that the "bad guy with a gun" will be stopped by good guys with guns. We've seen this in any number of ways from "arming teachers" to open carry laws and virtually no registration processes in most states.
This "solution" has been advanced in one way or another for as long as I've been alive. It doesn't work. It has proved to be no solution whatsoever.
