This kid is a high school senior. He can shoot a basketball from outer space. That basketball goes through hoop, though a net and some talented guy on the opposition gives a distraught look and takes the ball out to toss it in ..yada yada yada.
Seems this fellow committed to the University of Louisville to play college ball. Rick Pitino would be his coach. I know Rick and he is as decent a human being that every walked the earth aside from a daliance in a Lousiville restaurant that netted him a pissed off girlfriend.
Well this kid basketball player is a Nike (just do it) kid. Plays in Nike leagues. Wears Nike shoes. University of Louisville has a contract with Adidas - another jock shoe company.
PS THE KID JUST ANNOUNCED HE IS GOING TO LSU - A NIKE SPONSORED SCHOOL.
So this kid doesn't want to go to Louisville after all. He will play most probably with a Nike sponsored school. Why are we amazed.
I'm just saying that things might be getting out of whack.
Nike was a client of an ad agency I worked for. We lost the account because a $1 million dollar media buy went south and produced about 60% of what was excpected. ....that is...roughly speaking....about the same amount of money that Nike spends on a college basketball team.
Just sayin'.
