Down near our beach there is a pretty good stand of trees...probably dating from a replanting after the hurricane of 1938. The tallest of the lot "passed away" a bit ago and now the vines are taking over. The bark is long gone; just down to the bare bones. The vines, in the effort to reach the sunlight, will cause the tree to fall.
Why is this sad....?
